A storm is coming

It's just like that time when you were dancing in the last rays of sunlight on top of a castle! And you were a ghost. Or maybe a witch.

Homework for layout class.

It's raining

Short sequence from The Social Network, done for story class.

This must be my favorite scene out of all movies I've seen this year, so I had a little too much fun with this.

Airhead

I've been making a sculpture! It's in zBrush, and I'm still getting used to the UI (slowly losing some of my original hostility towards it). I wanted to test one of my film characters, and though I somewhat deviated from the design it still was useful for testing how things would work in 3D space.
Not done yet (probably). Built from scratch!

On a more technical note, topology-wise this is a desaster. I started out with a simple sphere, and on the finer details (like in the lips) the lack of traditional edge flows begins to show. Next time I might import a rough head base mesh from Maya instead and work on that, depending on if zBrush keeps the topology consistent when importing and dividing stuff up.

A Tragic Story

Layout class assignment. I titled it "Unrequited Love".

After the black and white sketch, I started doing color variations, but I still find it difficult to keep the values straight when adding color. To keep everything clear but still distinguishable.
The last one is getting there contrast wise but for some reason the background shade makes my eyes bleed.

Hello .-.

New blog! A place to post art so I can look back in 5 years and be embarrassed.
My Calarts first year film would be a good start!

Go watch it on youtube, it's tiny!
